Bazaart at the Mackenzie Art Gallery is back!! Bazaart is Saskatchewan’s largest outdoor art & craft show – organized as a fundraiser for the MacKenzie Art Gallery – it is known as a showcase of high quality art & craft in our province, and I will be there with my Hawk + Aspen line!
When I was a child, going to Bazaart with my mom was a highlight of my summer. I had a love of pottery and a small collection of my own bowls and candle holders amassed before I finished high school. I still have several of those high quality pieces. I remember coveting a particular nesting bowl set for a few seasons before saving enough money to buy it for myself. I also remember looking at all of the silversmith work and being amazed that a person could make these things with their own hands. I knew that at some point in my life I would learn those skills. I dreamt of being “good enough” for Bazaart.
This is my second time at the outdoor show and I can not wait. I am currently working on a new collection using shell, amazonite, tourmaline, pearl and other stones as well as my keum boo pieces. There may be a few enamels in the mix as well. Save the Date – June 18th on the MacKenzie lawn and parking lot. See you there.
